Doris Sugarman replaced by long-time staffer Ruth Cullen later this year.
The Hartford-based nonprofit announced this week that Sugarman will leave her post on June 30 as part of a planned transition.
“For me and the organization, the time is right,” Sugarman said. “We have strong, seasoned leadership, a cohesive and talented team, and an incredible board of directors who are ready to take the organization to the next level.”
Sugarman co-founded the Connecticut Forum with her husband, Richard, in 1992, and has since hosted speakers in Hartford including Michelle Obama, Justice Stephen Breyer, Neil deGrasse Tyson, Fareed Zakaria, Thomas Friedman and Karl Rove.
The Connecticut Forum announced Tuesday that Ruth Cullen, a longtime staff member, will become executive director July 1 as part of a leadership transition.
