Barreling toward the u. S. Dorian is pounding the northwestern bahamas this morning with winds of 175 miles per hour. Some 30 inches of rain could fall there. A lifethreatening storm surge of up to 23 feet is possible. A hurricane warning is now in effect for parts of floridas east coast. Dorian is a threat from florida to North Carolina. Cbs news weather producer David Parkinson is predicting the unpredictable path of the storm. Well, good morning. The storm has barely moved. Itg a little bit toward the north. Thats an indication that were starting to see maybe a shift to the north for florida to avoid seeing a landfall. Right now the winds are at 175 pliels an hour. It ee moving to the west at 2 miles an hour and its still off the West Palm Beach coast, but its unfortunately way too close for comfort. Heres the concern. It goes all the way up the florida coastline. By Tuesday Morning its still a category 4. By wednesday, a category 3 with 100mileanhour winds sitting off jacksonville.
