WAUWATOSA Chloe Longmire went to her first protest in Milwaukee just days after George Floyd was killed when former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin kneeled on his neck. Remembering George Floyd is what I want people to take home, Longmire said. It s all about him.
She gathered with around 50 individuals in Wauwatosa with Tosa Moms Tackling Racism, a group that grew out of the protests and calls for change that occurred after his death.
But Longmire, and many other members of the group, don t believe enough change has occurred yet.
Floyd s death sparked a summer of racial reckoning across the country.
