This year’s market will operate from May 7 until Oct. 1 or 9 in the Borden Friendship Centre from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. with set up at 9 a.m. Membership fees are $10, with yearly dues set at $10. Rent is $10 for larger tables and $5 for small tables. Seniors’ centre rental each week will be $50. The Christmas sale in the Borden Community Centre was set for Nov. 27 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., depending on pandemic rules in place by then. The market plans to put up two large signs east of Borden and by the bridge. The board remained the same: president Karen Kerr, vice- president Eileen Petrun, treasurer Connie Kinakin, secretary Lorraine Olinyk and board member Martha Rempel. There is interest in two or three new members joining the market.
Borden Friendship Club held their final bingo for the spring March 19, with under 20 out to play. Winners of cash prizes were Audrey Duda (three wins), Justine Katerynch (three wins), Jean Longmore, Doreen Flath (twice), Helen Sutherland( twice), L. Olinyk (twice), Jackie Meister and Stella Hawryluk. Winning chocolates for losing in tiebreakers were Delbert Enns, Doreen Flath, Jackie Meister and John Petrun. Any profit from the bingos is going into a fund for a bus trip to visit museums.
Condolences are extended to Don Brand of Borden on the loss of his sister Olinda Tindall, who lived in Lloydminster, at the age of 96 and to Loreena Siltzer on the loss of her mother who lived with her at Borden. Also condolences to Margie Clair and Laurie and Jack Rieter and family of Radisson on the loss of their mother and grandmother Ida Bole, who passed away March 17 at the age of 93. She had resided at the Borden Care Home.
