The Bristol Township Wardogs thought they were getting a field of dreams when the new municipal park opened last year, but reality appears to have priced them out of the bright green new turf they always thought was home.
The Wardogs say with their formerly unkempt township home field off Bath Road transformed into the nearly $7 million Bristol Township Municipal Park, it is now too costly for the program to rent playing time on the new premium turf field there.
The park, which underwent an extensive renovation and expansion and opened quietly amid the pandemic in 2020, features upgraded amenities and now includes an amphitheater, Little League baseball diamond, spray water park, pavilion, walking trail, practice field and a new $1 million turf field.
