again, most of the republican senators are looking at they know they have won constituent they are worried about and that is the president of the united states. do you agree with that? i agree with that. be careful now. mitch mitch connell is a master of the senate. recently he suggested, i have seen reports where maybe there won t be a trial. there is a motion to dismiss in the judicial branch but there is a motion to to dismiss with the senate trials in hearings. they filed one against clinton, the democrats did. but it was three weeks into the trial. don t sleep on mitch mcconnell thinking if he has a simple majority when the articles of impeachment comes to the senate that he files for a motion to dismiss, if you will. if he believes he has a super majority, those impeachment articles can, it will be subject
he needs a breakthrough moment tonight. cory booker is another person to watch, a compelling senator, i think he has cut a great story, but he is another one who doesn t quite break in through yet. watch those two and also don t sleep on julian castro. he had very strong reviews on the trail. i expect him to also have a good night as well. martha: i am keeping a close eye on cory booker. i think, richard, a lot of people thought he was going to be this rising star. he had a couple of awkward moments as the kavanaugh hearing comes to mind. he had a tough time getting traction but he says he s not worried about it. think back to where we were for the first debate, the first republican debate. we were talking about jeb bush and scott walker as two and three, right? think about how lindsey graham was, got past the first couple debates but ultimate couldn t make the distance.
how will that be deciphered? this is a missed opportune for some of these kinds to introduce themselves to black voters in south carolina. but joe biden has the highest voting approval with black voters right now. he s leading the polls. he s someone who has a lot of name recognition already. he s already seen as sort of an exthe evening of barack obama. he s in fact running on the idea that he would be a third term for president barack obama. and then, of course, bernie sanders he did very well with black voters, young black voters in 2016. but i would say don t sleep on elizabeth warren. she s someone who has been making inroads with the black community, with truckful full of proposals. she s starting to edge out bernie sanders who is second in the polls. she s definitely someone to keep an eye on. warren was someone who talked about the disparities with home
utah. don t sleep on john kerry running for president. if you come up short, you still think you could make it. 60,000 votes in ohio and it could ve been his. i think it could happen. greg: he makes lerch look loose. i agree with you. he didn t want to say anything. in his head, why can you ask me about climate change? i flew all the way here and private jet to talk climate, not trump. the applause tells you a lot. i think that s the bigger story. here you have an extremely wealthy audience who are threatened by brexit, the yellow jackets of france, and trump. all these things are of the same piece that scares the crap out of these people. they hired private jets or have their own private jet, creating a massive carbon footprint to talk about climate change. when you ask about that, they say we purchased carbon offsets
really and that he acknowledges that it s going to require real money. so if democrats do take back the house on tuesday, they re going to need some legislative accomplishments next year. so don t sleep on infrastructure week just yet. i hope we saved those graphics on infrastructure week. i ll close with this, roger stone spent much of this weekend calling friends and longtime associates, worrying he could soon be indicted by the special counsel, robert mueller. now, the trump friend and longtime gop dirty trickster insists mueller has it wrong. but the questions about stone go directly to his cooperation, perhaps with wikileaks and the russia collusion debate. stone s anxious calls, though, remind us of something even bigger. one the election passes tuesday, watch for the special counsel and other investigations to roar back into the news. presidential friends are worried about this. there s a ton of administration turnover just ahead. plus, the prospect, as we ve been noting this
