Monna McBrayer, 84, passed away Saturday, May 29, surrounded by family at Edgewood Memory Care in Mitchell, SD.
A Celebration of Life will be held on June 5, 2021, at Will Funeral Chapel in Mitchell with visitation at 10am and services at 11am.
Along with her twin sister Donna, Monna was born to Lawrence (Pat) and Marcella Muntefering, in 1936, and grew up on a farmstead west of Ethan, SD. In 1954, Monna married Jack McBrayer and together they built a life that lasted nearly 67 years making friends and creating memories in Kennebec, Watertown, Pierre and Mitchell.
For most of her life, Monna was a stay at home mom and loving mother to five children and two foster sons. When not busy with kids, Monna and Jack loved dancing and could be found most Saturday nights out on the dance floor until the last song was played. Once the kids were nearly grown, Monna went to work in retail where she not only helped customers but found an outlet for her love of shopping! U

GILMER, Texas (December 14, 2020) – Giving blood includes four easy steps and it takes about an hour to complete a whole blood donation. It is safe to give blood, even in the midst of a pandemic.
There is a surge in positive COVID-19 test results and hospitalizations; other surgeries and hospitalizations continue as well. There are hundreds of patients daily that will require blood transfusions. It is also true that the blood supply, locally and nationally, is more unstable than it has been in decades.
