Southwest Missouri is seeing a surge in Covid-19 cases.
Plus, with the Delta variant taking hold of the region, local health officials are worried the situation could get worse.
“The Delta variant is more easily spread and so I think we’ve kind of got a perfect storm coming-we have relatively low vaccination rates, more people getting together and a new variant out there that’s contributing to the increases in cases,” said Tony Moehr, Administrator for the Jasper County Health Department.
