To help residents impacted by flooding earlier this month, the City of Regina is applying to the province for access to disaster relief funding.
“When something like that happens … we’re looking to assist residents wherever we can with programs that are available to them,” Mayor Sandra Masters said to reporters after Wednesday’s city council meeting.

Since the heavy rainfall event that occurred on June 11, there have been several confirmed cases of basement seepage and flooding, according to a report from City of Regina administration discussed by council Wednesday. The city received more than 300 calls for service due to flooding. The city expects more claims to arise in the coming days and weeks, according to administration.
