Vic lee broke the story and joins us live with todays development. Vic . Reporter well, ama, here is the issue, the bottom line to this story. If a beat cop, if a Patrol Officer cant even get a free cup of coffee without violating the gift policy of the duty manual, why should the top brass get free 49ers tickets to see a game . Now this is the memo that the city manager drafted today. It was sent to the mayor and city councilmembers that says that the city manager and the City Attorney will begin reviewing the gift policy of the city to make sure that everybody everybody understands it. Last month abc 7 news reported that two top command officers received free 49ers tickets, apparently in violation of the police gift policy. Assistant chief eddie garcia attended two events. His home computer. More on the operation that led to his arrest. Chris . Reporter he was arrested in los gatos. Police tell us hes being held here at the Santa Clara County jail. This all following an investigation by the Silicon Valley Internet Crimes Task force. Lets take a look at his picture on the screen. This is 40 year year arturo perez, a resident of san jose. Authorities tell us they found more than 100 child pornography videos on a laptop he had in his possession. Officer Albert Morales says the kids in the videos ranged from toddlers to the age of 12. Very distubbing situation, very disturbing case. I think we all generally understand that we hold our children near and dear to our hearts and to know there are predators out there exploiting the in innocence of children, w have our detectives on this to conduct a thorough investigation. I think we get deemed in terms of the accjc because were not smooth, democracy is not smooth. You have arguments, you have debates, but at the end of the day you come out with an outcome that is justified. Were improving these accelerated skills courses so students who, yes, they did take three, four, five, six semesters to get out of basic skills. Now were going to hopefully see them get out of their basic skills courses a lot faster and that will lead to healthier outcomes. And so while were not perfect and i dont think any institution s we were at least trying to make an institution that is that has Educational Equity as well. But i also get back to the part that you cant have any student equity if you dont have access. Think that one service we might not need in terms of prioritization of resources is our real estate department. Their esl classes is just as important as a person thats getting their engineering degree or looking to transfer to u. C. Berkeley or to stanford. Those are our values. These Mission Statement might not have been to what they liked, but it was an expression of our values as san franciscans that we think everybody dunkelberg this should be a campus thats for everybody. And there were comments about our fiscal management that we have to say that city college is actually the First College [speaker not understood] to be the First College to return to prerecession revenues thanks to the parcel tax and prop 30, we were on track to get all the money that we lost back. So, i just wanted to clear some of that up first. The reason i believe that were partially here is this is a difference of our values. We believe that we love our Second Chance program. It is a program that helps ex offenders get out of the criminal Justice System return to city college, hopefully get their degree, and continue
