IRONTON — A Morgantown, West Virginia, woman pleaded guilty in a drug case Wednesday in Lawrence County Common Pleas Court and faces more than a dozen years in prison.

South Point man sentenced to prison on meth trafficking charges

IRONTON — A South Point area man was sentenced Wednesday in Lawrence County Common Pleas Court to three years in prison after he pleaded guilty to four counts of trafficking in meth in the vicinity of a school. Dana Frye, 43, of County Road 18, South Point, was sentenced in the case by Judge Andy Ballard. He was given credit for 142 days already spent in jail toward the sentence. A felony drug possession charge was dismissed as part of a plea agreement. The case has been set for trial May 27. In an unrelated case, Donald Malone, 32, was convicted earlier this week on a charge of possession of drugs. It was the first trial held in common pleas court in more than a year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Drug indictments returned in Lawrence County

The sealed drug indictments will be made public once the individuals are arrested, he said. West Virginia man sentenced in Ohio case

IRONTON — A West Virginia man was sentenced Wednesday in Lawrence County Common Pleas Court to eight months in prison for violating community control sanctions. Travis Gibson, 48, of Wyoming, West Virginia, admitted violating community control sanctions. He was sentenced by Judge Christen Finley. In an unrelated case, Trista Dawn Bailey, 36, of Private Drive 302, South Point, pleaded guilty in a felony case and was placed on community control sanctions for four years. Bailey also was ordered to complete up to a 135-program at the STAR Community Justice Center in Scioto County and stay at Riverside Recovery until being transferred to STAR. In other cases:
