REID / KITSAP SUN Towering redwood and sequoia trees dwarf Dondi Hanson s house - and the giant gnome that stands at the end of the walkway - at his home on High Street in Bremerton on Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2020. BREMERTON Between trees nearly as old as the city, a giant gnome is actually the newcomer on the block. A Sequoia and Coast redwood tower over Dondi Hanson s 1905-built home, as they do every dwelling on High Avenue near Bremerton High School. The trees, among the biggest in the city, were always a draw for curious onlookers, but the Hanson family recently added an 8-foot-tall gnome that has upped interest even more.
