Proteins are large and complex molecules that drive nearly all biological processes within an organism. Naturally occurring proteins play a role in aiding biochemical reactions, transporting materials with cells, transducing chemical signals, and other processes.
Now, scientists are increasingly looking into the advantages of engineered proteins. These proteins could be made to perform specific functions such as binding and neutralising pathogens, converting industrial waste to useful materials, and more. They have a tremendous potential to solve some of the greatest challenges of today across healthcare, food, agriculture, and other industries.
Easing the burden
However, protein engineering is a burdensome and resource-intensive task. In order to accelerate and make this task easier, Biomatter Designs has developed machine learning-powered platform for next-generation computational protein design. The platform can analyse vast amounts of natural protein data to learn the complex
Lithuanian gaming start-up Eneba gets 6.65 million euros to grow internationally

Placing transaction security at the core of its mission, Lithuanian gaming start-up Eneba is ready to expand.
Lithuania-based gaming marketplace start-up Eneba has just scored 6.65 million euros in funding from InReach Ventures, Practica Capital FJ Labs and a group of business angels, to help support its international expansion.
On the online marketplace, gamers can buy video games and other gaming-related items such as gift cards.
The start-up was founded in 2018 by Vytis Uogintas and Žygimantas Mikšta and is based in the city of Kaunas. Eneba says it has already attracted 26 million unique users thanks to its “one-click-to-buy” gaming experience, fingerprinting technology and security features.
After lockdowns boost gaming marketplace Eneba, it raises $8M from Practica and InReach
Eneba, a marketplace for gamers that sells games and other products, has raised an $8 million round of funding from Practica Capital and InReach Ventures. The funding is described as a “combination” of a seed and Series A round. Also participating in the funding for the Lithuanian startup was FJ Labs and a group of angel investors, including Mantas Mikuckas, COO of Vinted. The investment highlights once again the strength of the Baltics region as a tech ecosystem, after Lithuania produced its first Unicorn in the shape of Vinted, and Estonia added Pipedrive to its unicorns list.
