Senate Democrats have been left confused and befuddled by Sen. Joe Manchin, and say they’re trying to figure out what their West Virginia colleague is thinking with his most recent moves in bucking his party.
The House Judiciary Committee on Wednesday released a 241-page transcript of the committee’s June 4 interview with Donald F. McGahn, former White House counsel to the Trump administration.
At a Senate hearing on Wednesday, Garland was asked to respond to criticism against the Justice Department s (DOJ) efforts to fight the release of an internal legal memo from the Trump era and its defense of the former president in a defamation suit from a woman who accused him of rape.
The attorney general said his department is handling those cases without political considerations in mind.
