MADISON, Wis. (WKBT) – The Wisconsin Elections Commission received a 2020 Clearinghouse Award from the U.S. Election Assistance Commission for improving accessibility for voters with disabilities.
This is the second time the WEC has received one of the awards, commonly referred to as “Clearies,” which the EAC launched in 2016 to promote best practices in elections. The EAC, in turn, is under the auspices of the Help America Vote Act of 2002, a clearinghouse for election administration information.
The WEC received its first Clearie in 2019 for outstanding innovations in elections for its cybersecurity training series intended to secure the statewide election database, known as WisVote.
