COLIN LOVITT March 17, 1945-January 10, 2021
Australia has lost one of its best fighters for the underdog Colin Lovitt, QC, who died in early January at the age of 76.
Lovitt was admitted to practise law in 1969 and called to the Bar in 1970, where he read with the late John Fogarty AM. He was a leader of the Criminal Bar, serving as chairman of the Criminal Bar Association, of which he was founding and life member. He was appointed silk in 1988 and retired from the Bar in 2015. In 2012, he was named a legend of the Victorian Bar.
