Edinburgh Sheriff Court A PRESTONPANS man was caught breaching court bail conditions when police attended his partner’s home and found him there. Craig Sheridan, of Harlawhill Gardens, was placed on a bail curfew regarding a separate offence last February and was told he must stay within his home address between 7pm and 7am. But the 31-year-old travelled to his partner’s home in North Berwick on March 31 after she contacted him saying she was feeling unwell. After assisting her, he intended to make his way back to Prestonpans in time to make the curfew but claimed he had missed his bus and returned to the woman’s home.

A child rapist from Fife who sexually abused two girls more than 30 years ago died hours before he was due to be released on compassionate grounds.
David Scott, 66, who was jailed for 10 years in 2018 after being convicted of five historic charges of sexual offences and rape, is thought to have suffered a seizure in his prison cell and died nearly two weeks later in hospital.
