Spaces remain available for Northern Maine Community College’s Mechanized Logging Operations summer 2022 cohort, scheduled to begin June 27 in the woods of Passadumkeag, approximately 20 miles northeast of Old Town.
Twelve graduates of Maine’s only college training program for operators of mechanized logging equipment were recognized Thursday, Sept. 16, at an outdoor, socially distanced ceremony held at the site where they spent weeks harvesting timber using sophisticated state-of-the-art machines like those they will encounter in the logging industry.

GREENBUSH, Maine The Mechanized Logging Operations Program (MLOP) is a 12-week certificate program that takes place in the woods of Maine. The program is in its fifth year.
Throughout the program, students spend several weeks harvesting timber and learning how to use the latest machines that were donated by equipment manufacturers.
