2021 Yenko/SC Silverado California Edition Packs 710 Horsepower, Looks the Part

autoevolution 14 May 2021, 16:45 UTC · by Don Yenko has developed one of the greatest performance versions of the Chevy Camaro back in the 1960s. He was also a key figure in GM s decision to introduce the COPO Camaro and he also helped create beefed-up version of other Chevy vehicles. Fast forward to 2021 and Specialty Vehicle Engineering is keeping the Yenko name alive with hot rods based on the modern Camaro and Silverado. The 710-horsepower Yenko/SC Silverado California Edition is one of them. 9 photos Available on any 2021 Silverado truck in Crew Cab and Double Cab layouts (as long as it s fitted with the 6.2-liter V8), the Yenko/SC California Edition is one mean looking truck. SVE ditches the familiar Chevrolet grille insert for an upper fascia that features Yenko/SC lettering. The same logo is molded into the tailgate.

Rare 1969 Chevrolet COPO Chevelle Drag Races 1971 Buick GS, It s a Close One

autoevolution 14 May 2021, 9:18 UTC · by The 1969 COPO Camaros, including the 427 and the ZL1, are among the most iconic and desirable classic muscle cars out there. But the Camaro wasn t the only Chevy that got the COPO performance treatment. While not as iconic, the Chevelle was also delivered in COPO 427 trim in 1969, in very limited numbers. 1 photo Just like the Camaro COPO 427, the beefed-up Chevelle was initially built on special order for the Yenko Chevrolet dealership. Don Yenko ordered 99 of them, but as word got out, Chevrolet eventually sold 323 examples. There s no word as to how many of them survived to this day, but they re definitely hard to come by.

1969 Chevrolet COPO Camaro 427 Drag Races 1972 Buick GS, Gap Is Huge

autoevolution 8 May 2021, 17:35 UTC · by The 1969-model-year COPOs are arguably the most desirable versions of the first-generation Chevrolet Camaro. Built in 1969 units and with an all-aluminum, race-spec V8, the ZL-1 is THE holy grail. Although not as limited, with 1,015 examples built, the COPO 427 is just as desirable, albeit not quite as expensive. Seeing a COPO in the wild is a rare event, but one lucky owner brought one to a Pure Stock Muscle Car Drag Race event. 1 photo This beautifully maintained, orange-painted COPO 427 sports an original, solid-lifter L72 big-block V8 under the hood. The unit is rated at 425 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque, making it one of the most powerful muscle cars from the late 1960s.
