rights, laws, or anything like that. this afternoon, arkansas governor asa hutchinson said the officers response was not consistent with the training they received. that is reprehensible conduct in which a suspect is beat in that fashion. we saw a glimpse of that, it is under investigation. the incident happened sunday in mulberry, arkansas, about 140 miles northwest of little rock. on the video, you can see at least two officers punching and hitting the man, and kneeing him repeatedly as they try to arrest him. that s when you can hear a woman off camera yelling at the officers, don t beat him. he needs his medicine. to which one of the officers tells her to, quote, back the f up. and points, telling her to get back in her car. we don t know what happened just prior or what caused them to use any level of force. it may justify some level of force being necessary to take him into custody, but it escalated way beyond what it was

business. so many disturbing analogies to george floyd, and clearly from what we can see, no justification for this kind of force and violence being perpetrated against 27-year-old randall. chief, on the point of, don t beat him, he needs his medicine, if an officer hears that, is that relevant to their interaction in the moment? should they apply that at all? well, i mean, he may certainly be on medication or whatever. the real issue is they re attempting to take him into custody, and how much force are they using in order to accomplish that. i mean, once he s safely taken into custody, then whatever medical issues he has can certainly be addressed. but when you look at that video, there s no level of force that i can think of that is justified under those particular situations. i mean, you re talking about what we would call a level 3 use of force, which is, you know, potentially causing serious bodily harm or even death.
