Proposed budget presented to council

Article content Interim Chief Administrative Officer Don Studholme presented council with the proposed 2021 budget during Tuesday’s meeting and while the final numbers have not been crunched he informed council the budget as proposed is within the four per cent increase that council required Studholme to get to. In his report Studholme stated “The 2021 budget has been a challenge to implement and move forward to completion. Council forms in-house committee for CAO search

Article content Town council has opted not to hire a “head hunter” to find a new permanent Chief Administrative Officer, instead choosing to form a committee made up of some town staff and three councillors. The committee will be made up of Interim CAO Don Studholme, Human Resources Supervisor Kassandra Young along with councillors Lad Shaba, Stacy Wight and Rick Owen. Some of the things that perhaps we placed a high priority on, we realized they weren’t necessarily the best fit for the situation in Kirkland Lake. I think we have a much more realistic picture of what we want in a CAO.”
