just a quick update here on the breaking news we ve been following out of wisconsin and wmaq s carol maureen is reporting that dan rostenkowski from illinois has passed away in his home in washington. he had to serve some time in prison after pleaded guilty to two counts of mail fraud in 1996. he paid a $100,000 fine and then president clinton had pardoned the longtime congressman from illinois. again, has passed away at his home in wisconsin. we are watching wall street right now, where stocks are plunging today. look the dow jones industrials, it is off now more than 2%. the s&p off about 2.5% as well. the nasdaq has dropped significantly on the day. let s bring in cnbc s melissa francis. explain what is prompting so many investors to want to get rid of these shares. investors are really nervous
