Brian Mackay has unloaded his canoe that he and his brother plan on paddling down to Riverside Park. They have three kids in tow; one is riding in the canoe; two are following along in black float tubes.
The scene is far from what City council heard about Tuesday; two letters from concerned boaters described large groups of floaters gathering and blocking access to the launch, drinking beer and taking chances not wearing life-jackets.
Mackay said it s a nice, lazy river that provides a calm, relaxing canoe trip.
