Hours after the Burien City Council voted 5-2 to proceed with a yearlong program to allow food trucks to operate in the city, dozens of local business owners said Tuesday that they plan to mobilize opposition to the initiative.
“If the City of Burien wants to see empty store fronts (and) empty businesses, that’s what they’re inviting,” said David Cruz, a board member for the Latin Business Association, which supported Empresarios Unidos and other advocacy groups that are challenging the food truck program.
