If you have been keeping up with my column, you have been hearing more about the beauty of this time of year with autumn – now officially here. The stunning
WARSAW â An upcoming class will teach people how to grow their own edible mushrooms at home.
The class will take place 4 p.m. April 30 at the Cornell Cooperative Extension of Wyoming Count at 36 Center St. Itâs limited to 20 people and is set for room LC1.
The session will cover the basics of growing shiitake, lionâs mane, oyster, wine cap and nameko mushrooms. Itâs designed for people who wish to participate at a hobby level, but will provide details and resources to address commercial cultivation practices.
Following a presentation on techniques and log maintenance, participants will inoculate logs with mycelium that will produce edible gourmet shiitake mushrooms for years.
