MECA Made (mecashop.meca.edu) is a pop-up online store, featuring curated work by current students, alumni and faculty of the Maine College of Art. The Spring Sale is open through Wednesday, May 5, with paintings, prints, ceramics, jewelry and more that “evoke the hope and growth of the new season.”

A year ago, Art Manteris was sitting alone in the back of his sportsbook at Red Rock Resort and Casino. He had been booking bets in Las Vegas since the late 1970s, but he had never seen anything like this.
He should ve been in the thick of the madness of the opening Thursday of the NCAA tournament nonstop hoops action on the high-definition, wall-to-wall video screens while a packed house roars and groans with each basket. Instead, Manteris was by himself in the dark. It was quiet, with only the occasional flashing light or ringing sound effect from an unoccupied slot machine that had yet to be turned off.

SG brings in NZ Tab veteran to lead trading operations

Scientific Games has appointed Glen Saville as senior director of global trading to replace Benjie Cherniak, who has now left the business.
Saville (pictured below) will be based in Las Vegas, and tasked with growing the supplier’s global trading business. This covers Don Best Sports in the US as well as Scientific Games’ European operations.

He joins from New Zealand statutory betting and racing body NZ Tab, where he spent more than six years as general manager for betting. He previously worked as head of product for Australian operator Tom Waterhouse, which was acquired by William Hill in 2013.
