The powerful new James Webb Space Telescope is set to launch in October. It will study the earliest stars and galaxies and their evolution. Astrophysicist Dominika Wylezalek in Heidelberg will use the observatory to look at supermassive black holes.

Orbiting above the earth s atmosphere, the observatory has a clear view of the universe. Its findings have changed our understanding of the cosmos.
