“Dominican College joins community pantry efforts in the Philippines inspired by Maginhawa Community Pantry. In these trying times, it is better to help one another,” it wrote on Facebook.
The initiative aims to provide temporary aid to pandemic-hit residents, according to the school.
Collected goods from parents, students, alumni, teachers, and staff were donated to its nearby community.
“It exemplifies the DOMINICAN bayanihan spirit during this challenging time of Covid-19. May pag-asa kapag sama-sama (There’s hope when we help each other),” it added.
The community pantry will be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. until Friday, May 7.
