Our top story the chancellor sajid javid has said its a challenging time for world economies as new figures revealed the uk economy shrank in the Second Quarter of this year. The gdp figures show a 0. 2 decline between april and june, the worst performance of the uk economy since 2012. It follows a 0. 5 growth the previous quarter, which was largely put down to manufacturers stockpiling before the missed brexit deadline on march 31st. Even the usually Strong Services sector, showed just 0. 1 growth in todays figures, which have led to fears of a uk recession.
