UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. Sebastian Rivera pulled through a hellacious scramble at the end of regulation, but Nick Lee finished the second time around in sudden victory.
Lee advanced to his second straight 141-pound final for Penn State with a wild 8-6 win in sudden victory over Rutgers’ Rivera, a two-time conference champion, in the semifinal round of the Big Ten Championships on Saturday night at the Bryce Jordan Center.
Lee will meet Iowa’s Jaydin Eierman in Sunday’s final. Rivera, who won his conference titles at Northwestern and was bidding to become the Scarlet Knights’ third finalist in history, now falls into the consolation bracket. He can finish as high as third place and no lower than sixth.
