Security video on March 10 shows Shane Jackson, at the time an off-duty Daytona Beach Police Officer, standing with his back to the camera facing a group of five people in front of the main entrance to the Flagler Tavern in New Smyrna Beach.
Clutched in Jackson s right hand that March 10 night was what appeared to be a knife. Although the video has no sound the group of three men and two women and Jackson appear to be talking at each other and then arguing.
What happened next that night a stabbing put Jackson in handcuffs and facing decades in prison.
An off-duty Daytona Beach police officer was arrested for stabbing a man during a fight outside a bar in New Smyrna Beach on Wednesday night, officials said.
The officer was identified as Shane P. Jackson, 50. He was initially charged with aggravated battery but after police reviewed video footage of the fight the charge was amended to attempted premeditated murder, said New Smyrna Beach police spokesman Lt. Christopher Kirk.
Daytona Beach police Chief Jakari Young said initially Thursday that he had placed Jackson on unpaid administrative leave until the investigation of the incident is completed. But later the chief released another statement saying he had seen some of the evidence.

VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. – Two police officers in Volusia County have been cleared by the state attorney for their roles in a fatal shooting at a Daytona Beach apartment that left one suspect dead and an officer injured.
Holly Hill and Daytona Beach police officers responded to the apartment complex at 1629 Espanola Ave. on Aug. 29 for an anonymous tip about a person wanted for attempted murder.
