Dr. Manisha Patel, MD, MS, currently serves as the Associate Director for the Office of Strategy and Innovation (OSI) in CDC’s National Center for Injury Prevention and Control and is a Commander in the U.S. Public Health Service. As the Associate Director, she provides center-wide leadership and coordination of NCIPC’s strategic priorities, including Adverse Childhood Events, overdose, and suicide. OSI also oversees, supports, and coordinates other Center-wide initiatives, such as data science and health equity.
Dr. Patel joined CDC as an Epidemic Intelligence Service Officer in 2005 and brings more than 15 years of leadership and technical experience in surveillance, study design and implementation, emergency response, policy, and health communications for childhood vaccine-preventable diseases. She completed her residency in Pediatrics at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey and fellowship in Pediatric In
