russia. how would that be and what dollar figures are we talking about? you know, biden at the beginning of his start as a president promised $1 trillion for u.s. infrastructure. i think it s fair that those monies should be spent for u.s. another trillion from russian operations should be spent for ukraine. we can do that together with u.s. companies and eu companies to rebuild ukraine and make it like a brand new ukraine. it s also big open question, what can ukraine become after this great rebuild? is it the same sold soviet-type ukraine or brand new one with new industries, especially defense industry. we have great experience right now thanks to the war. and with ai industry, agriculture, but brand new one as well. well, it is refreshing to
really are not spending it, but let s not discount. $1.2 trillion, we are so used to the trillion dollar figures, that s the g.d.p. of spain. it s a huge amount of money and takes a very sophisticated administration that really has their act together to spend this money correctly. otherwise you have boondoggles, we all remember the local boondoggles like the big dig in boston, remember that, it was ten years overdue, cost ten times more than what they said it was going to be. tucker carlson last night mentioned the high speed rail between las vegas and san francisco, another boondoggle. imagine how many boondoggles you could get out of 1.2 trillion and it s not like this administration is inspiring confidence based on their managerial acuity. i want to get the other headline in and involves a chart as well. really something when we saw it, perhaps you can put it in
size and scale and scope of it with the dollar figures to it, and c, pretty transparent about what is generally in the package. we are not going to give you an inventory list, not going to put that out to the public. as i have said from the podium many times before, we don t think there is a value for the operational security to have that in the public, what the shopping list looks like on any given day. don t see a value to doing that. i think we need to think about, always think about operational security, certainly in this case on the ukrainian s part, so we are doing that. the kinds of material that are going to be in these security assistance packages going forward, i think you have rightly said, we detailed, some weapons that can support them on the ground as well as weapons that can support the airborne challenges that they have, and i think we feel comfortable going about that far. and on the images coming from maxar, the satellite images of
one substantiation of that, the secretary, a couple of weeks ago, he authorized a drawdown of $250 million within just a few days. the vast majority of that sum had been i know the dollar figures. i know the dollar figures, but i m curious, will they get the specific systems? because i ve been told by u.s. military officials it is surface-to-air missiles, it is air defense that ukraine needs most urgently. well, jim, let me tell you what we are providing, we re providing surface-to-air systems, we re providing anti-tank systems, we re providing anti-armor systems, we re providing small arms, munitions. we re constantly in search of our own inconvventories and as natasha referred to earlier, our allies and partners around the world to seek collectively what we might be able to provide. secretary blinken has repeatedly signed authorizations for nato allies to provide u.s. origin equipment to our ukrainian partners. if something is in our stocks, if something is in the supplies of o
