On May 15, 2021, at the peak of the Hamas-Israel fighting and as Qatar was engaged in efforts by the U.S., Egypt, and other countries to mediate between the parties and reach a ceasefire, Qatar hosted, in its capital Doha, a mass rally in solidarity with the Palestinians. The rally, which was a display of support for the Gazan terror groups, especially Hamas, included calls in praise of martyrdom, jihad, and the armed struggle against Israel.

Doha: Ashghal is about to revive Qatar s historic tourist destination Palm Island Bridges as it has invited tender for designing, building and dismantling of the island located opposite to Doha Sheraton Hotel.
Tenders are invited for designing, building and dismantling of the bridges and the closing date for the same is May 23, 2021.
The tender bond is worth QR 2,125,000 with tender details available on the Ashghal website.

QU graduates honoured at Education Excellence Day

Five students from Qatar University (QU) were honoured by the Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani at the 14th Education Excellence Day Award ceremony 2021, which took place at the Doha Sheraton recently under the theme “Excellence Builds Generations.”
Nora Essa Ali Hussain Al-Ansari and Shaheen Essa Al-Nuaimi, students of the College of Arts and Science, and Hamad Abdullah Tayyis Abdullah Al Jumaili, a College of Law student, won gold in the university graduate category.
Nasser Muhammed Nasir Al Habab Al Hajri, a College of Law Master’s student, received an award in the literary category. Ahmed Abdullah Ali Al-Jabir Al-Buainain, a College of Engineering Master’s student, received an award in the scientific category.
Qatar has maintained a strong focus on advancing education as one of the top priorities under the Qatar National Vision 2030.
This is reflected in the numerous initiatives the country has introduced to create educational opportunities for students in Qatar and abroad. It is also visible in the way the country supports education seekers, learners, and students with several programs.
