From Sunday 1 August our four-legged friends will be
allowed back into Blenheim’s CBD as the new Dog Control
Policy and Dog Control Bylaw 2021 comes into
effect.

Jamie Arbuckle says the Marlborough community is passionate
about dogs and dog access to public places.
“The
submissions received during the recent bylaw review reflect
that and it’s fantastic that dogs will be allowed back
into the CBD provided they are on-leash and under control at
all times,” he said.
“It’s important for owners
to note that dogs will still be prohibited in Seymour Square
Marlborough District Council’s Environment Committee today adopted a new Dog Control Policy and Dog Control Bylaw 2021 for Marlborough. The bylaw becomes effective from 1 August 2021 once it is endorsed by the full Council on 24 June. They key changes .

Water solution a no brainer ? In regards to subdivisions and water, would it be prudent and cost saving to suggest to new homeowners to install a rainwater tank at each house. Whanganui and Rangitīkei seem to be building subdivisions and housing at speed, with Marton currently working on the Hereford Heights subdivision of roughly 80 new houses.
Given the climate change problem, and the current state of the district s water and reservoirs, this seems a better option than sending the rainwater down the drain to the sea. The current state of the water in Marton does not seem to be coping with the existing houses, as the water level and quality decreases. It may also be important to note that with the increase in housing, the stress upon the state of the water could cause further issues.
