ramifications. fox news correspondent gillian turner has the latest for us tonight on this fast-move story. good evening, gillian. good evening, martha. the iranian regime responding tonight to president trump s claim the u.s. is locked and loaded saying they are ready to face off against the u.s. in a full fledged war. but now president trump responding to that by insisting he doesn t want war. never has. i don t want war with anybody but we re prepared more than anybody. with all of that being said, we certainly would like to avoid it. iran s government meanwhile boasts it s armed to the teeth with advanced missile technology and claims it s not afraid to target u.s. military facilities in the middle east. but iran is also making it personal. going after president trump s national security team accusing them of maximum lies. to accuse the islamic republic of iran with these attacks and defensive measures is in line with their maximum falsehood

iii is to prevent it. this only goes to show what i said about iran. trouble, nothing but trouble. so director ashley is saying iran doesn t want war. the president saying they are trouble. trouble didn t equate to war, we know that much. but with the iran provocations that we ve seen in the last three months here, what option what s happening, without front- escalating the situation? so from the iranian perspective, it s the u.s. that has flared the situation. they feel they have negotiated this agreement with the u.s. and the world s other major powers and they were abiding by it. there was a consensus among u.s. intelligence agencies that they were abiding by it. the trump administration has pulled out of the deal which caused the economy to collapse. first thing, iran is not looking for war. they re looking for easing of

against iran. today the president unveiled his latest move, announcing new sanctions that will do little except inflame the situation. new york times reports the new sanctions are aimed to prevent tom iranian officials from using the international banking system and financial vehicles set up by europeans and other countries. do not likely keep substantial assets in european banks and additional pressure from sanctions is likely to be minimal. so the president almost went to war and now issued sanctions that said will do nothing and continue to humiliate and box in iran s leadership. it is obvious rhetorical de-escalation. the president doesn t want war and mad at his advisers beating the donald trump for it. he s out there doing the exact kind of thing that folks for john bolton have pushed for. a reminder here, donald trump is the one who pulled out of the iran deal. donald trump is the one who hired folks like bolton and mike pompeo, appeared to further escalate the situation wit
