but we are asking somebody to be the president of the united states. i have been saying this, this is not just for biden. just for years since i have been doing this and watching debates. the best debater people don t run a presidency in 15, 20, 30-second minute sound bytes. if you think about it, we think back to the kennedy/nixon debates which were transformative because tv was a new technology. but it was clear that hillary clinton beat donald trump. essentially though after the debate s over all these candidates have to go out and about and they perform differently than on that stage because it s a very weird space to be when you re debating. it s weird, it s unnatural and the public, quite frankly doesn t pay attention to three hours of it. i can t even get to a commercial break with, like, seven, eight-minute segments. three hours is a long time. but i can just imagine it s tough being a moderator. and it s tough, your 30 seconds are up.
nancy pelosi and sidney moyer talking about this. this is hot off the press. the house will vote on the resolution on wednesday, making it clear that congress disapproval of the administration s effort to block the release of the complaint and of the need to protect the whistle-blower. this is not a partisan matter, this is about the integrity of our democracy. we reported that for us and we will set this up the rules committee later today and they will walk the house democratic caucus in about 11 or 12 minutes through this and what the next steps are on formalizing impeachment. keep in mind, there doesn t have to be a formal inquiry, this is what the judiciary committee did a couple weeks ago. the house could up or down straight vote on impeachment but this is where people start talking about all this fuss is on. the average average american doesn t pay attention to whether or not they are inside up with impeachment inquiry and whether they regard this resolution on wednesday, they
hurt him with independent voters in the general election, and he s going to need more than just republican voters to win re-election. but here s what yes. but here s what they have to understand. they have to understand the contrast. people say that donald trump can t pay attention or doesn t pay attention. he pays attention. he s paying attention to whether thornbury is doing well. he spent a ten-minute commercial talking about the wonders of doral. but here s what he doesn t pay attention to. he can t pay attention to a storm that is headed to the united states or where it s going, and he says it s going to go to alabama and then doubles down on that. people thought that was trivial and we called that sharpie gate, and i thought it was funny too. but when you re taking intelligence that s six days old, okay, now put it into a military context. there s a north korean sub off the coast somewhere of the united states within striking range, and whose intelligence is he going to belie
what do you think? it seems like there s broad consensus to expand background checks, especially repeated domestic violence offenders, red flag laws to get guns out of the hands of the mentally ill, looking at social media postings, possibly expulsion from school. people are interested in that policy. why are we talking about buybacks when there s so much opportunity here nlts min the m. you talk about a buyuyback, it will be difficult to administer, track, be expensive. there s more we can do on background checks, red flag laws, educating the public to lock up the guns you have and keep them safe and out of the hands of children who too often die from accidental deaths. amanda is a republican, you hear them, republican women, moms talking about an opening of the mind in terms of some forms
and taking our jobs. and you re standing up for us, you re fighting. i understand it s going to be a long haul, someone is finally fighting. that s what they re looking at. until the bill shows up. until they have to pay for this president s policies. the president is pushing this sort of all of us have gotten it in our in-box, these get-rich schemes. if you do this real quick, send some money here, we ll make you this much money. this president inherited a good economy from president obama. the obama administration had to rescue us from the ditch, put us back on track. led the way to the most sustained long-term job growth we ve seen. this president has come in with whatever you want to describe his economic policy doesn t pay attention to the facts. we heard that in the earlier segment. a rejection of aull economists and studies that are demonstrating the failure of this administration. he started the tariff war. he provided the tax breaks for the top 1%, now folks are
