there and a business owner talking about biden visiting ukraine and not ohio. it s kind of crazy to think that our president is more comfort be in a war zone than is he in his own backyard in the buckeye state here in east palestine. you know we don t care who comes to be honest with you. as long as you are coming bring a shovel with you and roll up your sleeves and work together to fix this. we are looking for answers to get our lives back on track. naturally we understand that norfolk southern is a business. they are back in business, obviously and rolling down the track. we are looking for our business owners to do the same. there is businesses that are going to probably go out of business if someone doesn t help them. they just survived covid and they got their doors back open and now this. bret: pretty amazing the devastation there kids will not be in school today mainly because the former president going to show up. he got 70% of the area. he won that state twice by about 8 p
he also knows that he will be able to grab a headline because there is some scrutiny right now of the biden administration from republicans and democrats. ironically, though, it is not actually around the failure to respond. the department of transportation, the epa, the ntsb were on the ground within hours after the accident. i think the void that donald trump is looking to fill is perhaps seen in the administration wasn t public enough and the response, realizing this was becoming a political issue in addition to his administrative and regulatory issues. so, and that vacuum, you see other candidates, statewide, out of the safety concerns of the residents, wanting to ensure the federal resources and state resources can actually be applied without political distraction. donald trump doesn t play by those rules, and in an abundance of bad faith, he s gonna show up in town, and try to create a political story around his campaign. donna, as david mentions, the epa administrator has visi
retroactive, so if these buildings were built before the current codes come into place, it just doesn t play. same thing is true everywhere else as well. we know we have buildings that are going to collapse, but that doesn t make them disappear. could be it s either too old a building, that something in the modern code didn t take something into advance. the engineers are going to be in there trying to understand that. there s also the possibility that the designs were not followed or the construction of sub standard, and that s going to require an investigation to determine why the buildings performed as badly as they did. turkey s a large countrying but last year the urban environment minister said 7 million homes were at risk of an earthquake. does that sound normal to you? yes. i mean, it s a dense country. they have a lot of earthquake faults. and the big issue, is how close are you to how big the earthquake is? if you re 100 miles away, it s
extraordinary, you know, obviously health shock, but broadly an economic shock which intensified because of some of the crazy mistakes that truss and kwarteng made. but then when you set that against the personality of the last but one, as it were, prime minister borisjohnson, who never followed the rules, that, that combination of economic shocks. and, you know, ithink it would be to flatter him to call him a maverick, but, you know, somebody who, you know, doesn t play by the normal rules. it was obviously going to be hugely unstable. and so it turned out to be. two things where i m going to pat myself on the back, one, with the majority. i remember coming in the next morning, having stayed up all night going, guys, it s not really an 80 seat majority, it s the tory party, so it s probably a majority of 20 and it will vary from issue to issue to issue. so don t sit back. second of all, the owen patterson, i think i was there for the absolute
politics may be involved, whether it is or not. that is the idea of this whole special counsel in the first place. try to reassure the public that no, it is not the administration of the current president and may want to run again, does want to run again and two year, which looks very principle to some america it s a special independent special counsel that will make judgments without fear of politics. that s an ideal that we have subscribe to. but in reality, trump would never allow the idea that a special counsel is somehow removed from politics. he will make clear and he already has, that he considers a special counsel to be nothing more than an adjunct of the biden ministration, yet another witch hunter and persecutor and so forth. in fact, the goal maybe high minded. which is to, say we will try to make this a political. but you need to be realistic in today s age, especially when you have somebody like former president trump, who doesn t play by the same rules that previous p
