the reedy creek improvement district. that s a special district that essentially allows disney to operate as its own independent government in the areas surrounding those orlando theme parks. there are still a lot of questions regarding the details. how exactly will this be done? you ask the republicans this doesn t go into effect until june of next year, so they have time to work out those details. but still, there s a lot of concern, especially for those counties that surround that special district. we re talking about orange county as well as osceola county. and their concern is that if that special direct goes away, that they will get stuck with the district s debt. orange county tax collector telling cnn if that they have absorb that tax burden and passed along as a property tax increase, it could be a 20 to 25% property tax increase for the average orange county resident. now, reedy creek did write a letter to its bondholders to say
the ready creek improvement district, the district set up some 55 years ago that gave disney the right to self-govern, to cover its own services, water, electricity, things that it wanted to build infrastructure, it did not have to seek any kind of regulatory approval from the county. we spoke to the orange county tax collector here who told us that district, the ready creek improvement district brought in about $105 million in annual revenue. at this point, it s still unclear how all of this will shake out because it doesn t go into effect until june of 2023, but it appears that, according to at least several people that we talked to, that the local taxpayers will have to bear the brunt of paying for some of those services, should they come out of the ready break district and we re told that could mean a tax increase of up to 20% on the tax bills so there s still a lot to be sorted out as to how this
launch attacks that his base loves and opponents hate, and one thing in that campaign territory or discussion, it doesn t go into effect by resolving reedy creek when the governor signs it, and it will happen in june of 2023. what does that mean? the legislature will have a year to decide if we have a year to do that and disney will have a year to come to heel and say sorry, and disney pauses donations, and to a degree, especially when you talk to critics, it s a mafia feel to it, nice park and it would be a shame if something happened to it. is florida a good place to do business if you are a private corporation, or only if you are a private corporation that

the viewers may understand, it basically means that rebekah brooks and her husband, charlie, have been charged with effectively concealing evidence from the police, as they looked into phone hacking at the disgraced tabloid owned by rupert murdoch, the news of the world. that tabloid closed down last summer but the repercussions of the phone hacking scandal continue to ripple through british society, and internationally as well, of course, but this is significant, because it s the first set of charges to be brought since the original scandal broke back in 2006, and the royal reporter, clive goodman and another were charged with phone hacking. now the ceo of the parent company, news international, and her husband and various other staff members have been charged with perverting the course of justice, concealing evidence from the police, attempting, it is alleged, to effectively cover up what was going on from the police, specifically with removing documents from the archive
