Readers Letters: Enough woolliness over cost of Independence
One thing most will agree on is that Scottish Independence should be decided by the Scottish people. I voted for Independence in 2014, the majority voted for the continuation of the Union, that is democracy. Similarly, on Brexit I voted to Remain but the majority across the Union voted to leave, again, democracy. However, politicians believe in democracy and the outcome of a vote when it suits their own cause, if not, let’s have another vote.

Sweet sounds are tripping down a potholed lane in Glasgow s wealthy west end.
It is the music of the clarsach, the old Gaelic harp, which ripples over the air and down the ages.
From Viking raids and Wars of Independence, to Union and Enlightenment, Empire and oil, Scotland has sung many songs.
Now, says Sophie Rocks, leader of clarsach group The Willow Trio who are rehearsing in a garage studio, it s time for a new tune.
She reckons the divide between Scotland and England, is more prominent now than when she, and a majority of her fellow Scots, opposed independence in 2014.

A 12-week Scottish government consultation, which has just ended, called for views on how best to protect women involved in prostitution.
At present, soliciting in public, kerb crawling and brothel-keeping are illegal.
The government is to decide whether to adopt the Nordic model .
Introduced two decades ago in Sweden, the policy decriminalises the sale of sex but targets the buyers of sexual services.
Proponents argue that it would make Scotland less attractive to traffickers, while targeting the demand for sex work.
