On Monday morning, some of the first doses of the Pfizer vaccine for COVID-19 arrived at Hartford Hospital, and during a press conference, a select group of Hartford Healthcare personnel from across the state were vaccinated. This first step in vaccine distribution, Phase 1a, will include patient-facing medical professionals, emergency responders, and nursing home residents.
The first to receive the dose was Dr. Ajay Kumar, executive vice president and chief clinical officer for HHC. Kumar felt it was a privilege to get one of the first doses in the state.
