let s deal with that first. will support that. once that passes, you leave the groundwork for doing more another. things focus a lot more and getting more tests out there. i focus a lot more getting rapid test. a lot more people getting boosted. then having some debate about whether the federal government should regular the salaries of pre-k teachers. i think there s a lot of focus on what is first and foremost for voters. well this is happening, advocacy groups are ramping up their campaigns. we re worrying that something might not get done. here s the issue with that. progressive advocacy groups influence progressives. they are already on board. centrist and republicans, they don t care with those groups had to say. eugene robinson and bill kristol, thank you so much for joining us. coming up, doctor dr. vin gupta is here. he has a lot to say about the
is as dr. cyril wecht so articulated, was more than enough to quit my client. the reports are highly conflicting. doctor dr. cyril wecht, the defense had introduced into the legal mix and the renowned pick spurred an internationally recognized pathologist of many years. dr. cyril wecht had weighed in on cases from the jfk assassination to the deaths of elvis pressley and john benny ramsey. he told the court the conflicting tests demanded a tie breaker. what you do is, you ve got to seated them again for laboratory testing. preferably to a third, highly respected clock talks ecology lab. that was not. done more compelling, he said, there s evidence other scarring around autumn s heart, which could have triggered an electrical malfunction, stopping the organ called. only on the spot cpr could have saved her and in the absence of somebody hitting you on the chess, somebody knowing what they re doing with training and
tuesday to decide whether to authorize pfizer s vaccine for emergency use in kids 5 to 11 years old. there s new fda data apparently that shows a vaccine was nearly 91% effective for children in clinical trials the. see the seed takes up the same issue november 2nd and third, and should the vaccine get the approval, could kick kids could have their shots by the holiday season. joining me right now is doctor dr. ofer levy who s a director of the vaccine program at boston children hospital and a matter of the fda panel. doctor, good morning to you, thank you for being here. pfizer says its vaccine was nearly 91% effective in children during clinical trials. the panel will take that into consideration. can we expect them to authorize it? thank you for that, candace. as you know, our vaccine advisory committee will convene this coming tuesday, the 26th of october. we are advisory to fda, so we
adults now at least partially vaccinated against covid. we re about a month late in reaching what was joe biden s goal. this is a made-up number, though. it s not a you know what i m saying? it s not science. 70% doesn t equal herd immunity, it s just a really good ratio of how many people you have. clearly even though we re at 70%, it is not a magic number because we got all we can handle right now because the delta variant has taken hold and we re seeing cases explode. more importantly, we re seeing hospitals fill up, again, and we didn t increase capacity from the last time and we didn t make more staff. we have chief doctor dr. sanjay gupta here. these cases seem to be a little more severe so you re having more hospitalizations. you ve got staff that isn t fully vaccinated and you re understaffed in a lot of places and that s where we see louisiana struggle.
in the completely unnecessary surging communities across the country, now and that s more and more people are finally going out to get vaccinated. doctor dr. vivek murthy is the surgeon general of the united states, he joins me now. what do you see in the data across states in terms of the relationship between high levels of community transmission and people getting out and getting vaccinated? well chris, it s a really good question, what we see in fact is the states that have low vaccination rates, from the ones where we are seeing the greatest surges. this is what you would expect. low vaccination rates you have low protection. and that s what we ve been worried about all along. thankfully the states that are at the top, in terms of vaccination, rates are doing very well in terms of cases, hospitalizations and deaths. that is good, but what is reassuring also is despite the bad this is gone, and we are seeing a significant uptick in the vaccination rate across the country. particul
