23-year-old Dr. Vandana Das was stabbed to death by a man brought for medical examination by the police. Her parents have raised concern that the police appear to be trying to hide their own security lapses in the case.
The accused Sandeep’s defence had earlier claimed that the murder wasn’t intentional and that Sandeep was in a disturbed mental state when he committed the crime.
The Kerala HC underlined that the ongoing protests by doctors across the state are out of their fear and lack of safety, and insisted that the Kerala government handle it with composure.
Despite two police officials being injured in the incident which took place around 4.30 early in the morning, the police FIR mentions that it was only at 8.15 am that they were intimated about it.
