miscalculation. do taiwan aircraft and chinese af craft get too close in the sky? there was concern about them challenging pelosi s aircraft. when you have tensions like this, a big part of the concern is do you run into each other in a way you don t want to run into each other. but there s also a different of opinion between some u.s. officials and others, current and former, as to whether you can be too differential or not enough to chinese security concerns here and what you gain from it. there are many who say the better thing to do, give china the means dr sore are i, give taiwan the means to defend itself from a possible chinese invasion and don t do the trips like this that s certainly going to get more noticed in terms of public attention. that s the debate. i will say this.
