BELGRADE (Serbia), December 23 (SeeNews) - Serbian sugar producer Sunoko, part of diversified conglomerate MK Group, has opened a research and development (R&D) centre for sugar beet production, it said.
The centre will ensure more efficient production of sugar beet, in accordance with the latest scientific research and knowledge, as well as guidelines for good agricultural practice, Sunoko said in a statement on Tuesday.
In December 2019, Sunoko said it plans to invest 1 million euro ($1.2 million) in the establishment of a research centre for sugar beet production.
Sunoko produces up to 400,000 tonnes of sugar per year at its three production plants - in Kovacica, Vrbas and Pecinci, all located in the northern province of Vojvodina.
