A witness identified only as “Ms K” on Tuesday named South Africa’s defence secretary, Sonto Kudjoe, three cabinet ministers and the former director general of the State Security Agency (SSA), Arthur Fraser as the main authors of intelligence abuses during the Zuma era.
Ms K told the Zondo commission that the transgressions included setting up a shadowy parallel force with SSA funding that took over all aspects of assuring then-president Jacob Zuma’s personal safety.

On Tuesday Dlodlo, through her legal team, told the commission on Tuesday that she believes Jafta’s testimony would pose a threat to national security.
But Zondo held that the evidence submitted by Dlodlo does not justify the need for an adjournment.
“It seems to me that there has been enough time from the moment that she got Mr Jafta s affidavit from last evening to this morning, for her to actually say ‘my concern that Mr Jafta’s evidence may threaten national security is based on the following, which is the following in the affidavit’.

The minister of state security Ayanda Dlodlo’s attempt to halt the evidence of the State Security Agency’s (SSA) acting director-general (DG) Loyiso Jafta was dismissed by the state capture inquiry’s chairperson Raymond Zondo on Tuesday.
This after two hours of counsel representing Dlodlo, advocate Dumisa Ntsebeza, having tried in vain to convince the inquiry to postpone Jafta’s testimony.
Ntsebeza first argued that Dlodlo was concerned that Jafta’s testimony may compromise national security.
