Nongoma â A senior member of the Zulu royal family is heard in a leaked voice note, allegedly sent to the faction opposed to Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi, telling them to accept the reality that the late Queen Mantfombi Dlamini Zulu is, according to Zulu culture, the legitimate queen regent and the next Zulu king should come from her house.

Zulu nation prime minister, Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi, said her body would be transported from Joburg to the royal palace on Wednesday, 5 May.
Buthelezi said in line with her wishes, as was done for the king, the queen would be interred at the crack of dawn in a private burial.
“As confirmed by her children, Her Majesty wished to be buried at her royal palace. Having discussed this with the Queen Mother, Queen Mayvis MaZungu, it’s been agreed that everything must be done in accordance with the late regent’s wishes,” he said.

As succession battles within the Zulu Royal family begin to play out in the wake of the passing of King Goodwill Zwelithini kaBhekuzulu and Zulu nation Regent, Queen Mantfombi Dlamini Zulu, one of the King’s wives has reportedly filed papers in court challenging his will.
According to IOL, the King’s eldest wife, Queen Sibongile Dlamini, is demanding a 50% share of his estate.
This was after the will left behind by King Zwelithini kaBhekuzulu had allegedly given his other wife Dlamini Zulu total control of the king’s estate. Dlamin Zulu, who passed away on Thursday, was also appointed the regent pending the coronation of the new king.
