A delegation consisting of 222 domestic delegates and overseas Vietnamese (OVs) from 22 countries globally visited and presented gifts to officers, soldiers and people on Truong Sa, DK1 platform on Phuc Tan shoal during their trip from April 18-23.
Former Deputy Foreign Minister, Ambassador Nguyen Thanh Son, who is also former head of the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs, has highlighted the significance of visits by overseas Vietnamese (OVs) to people and soldiers in Truong Sa island district and DK1 platform across the past 11 years.
The DK1/16 platform stands firm as a steel belt marking Vietnam’s national sovereignty over seas and islands and guarded by naval seamen around the clock.
Forty-seven overseas Vietnamese (OVs) from 22 countries around the world and 200 domestic delegates concluded a programme to visit people and soldiers in Truong Sa island district and DK1 platform on April 23.
