BURLINGTON, Canada The 2021 Canadian Premier League season is approaching, and as a result, rosters for all eight teams are starting to be finalized.
While we don’t know the exact start date of the 2021 season just yet, we do know that the league plans to have a season, and will update us further about their plans for 2021 on May 15.

Well, I don’t think any of us saw this coming. Who could have guessed last year that shortly after Canada had announced it’s preliminary Olympic Qualifying roster that a worldwide pandemic would halt all games and cause the CMNT to not hit the field in friendly nor competitive match for well over a year? My money is on probably no one. Casting our minds back to the days before zoom calls and social distancing were commonplace terms,

Bar a semi-deflating defeat in the away leg to the United States, Canada was having a good run of games, having defeated their longtime rivals in the Nations League for the first time in a competitive match since 1985, along with a pair of victories against Barbados and an inspiring showing against Iceland in unofficial friendlies. “The Colombian market is one that we have looked at in some depth this off-season,” York United managing consultant Angus McNab said in a release, referring to fellow Colombian league standout Hernández.
“I feel that it offers phenomenal value and there are a larger proportion of young talents that would be realistic targets for us in both the 1st and 2nd divisions than in other competitions in South America. Sebastian’s experience, having logged over 3000 minutes in Colombia, was very attractive and impressive given he has only just turned 23. He was a little unfortunate with how 2020 played out as the pandemic couldn’t come at a worse time for a free agent but that’s certainly played in our favour here.”
