For many in the LGBTQ+ community, Pride Month is a time to celebrate. For many others, it s a time to come out.
Local LGBTQ+ advocate and Dixie State University Professor of Design, Josh Pedersen partnered with a past student to create and publish a book about coming out. Faith Henke was a student in Pedersen s class in 2018. Pedersen noticed her hand-lettering skills and asked if she would consider illustrating his book.
“Out, Not In!” is a 44-page book that Pedersen has written with advice for coming out. It goes over the different ways that one might go about coming out to their family and when not to. It’s a book geared toward young adults who need a book on the subject to act as a guiding hand Pedersen said.
